Vaccines/ Vaccine Schedules
Different vaccines work in different ways, but every vaccine helps the body’s immune system learn how to fight germs. It typically takes a few weeks for protection to develop after vaccination, but that protection can last a lifetime. A few vaccines, such as those for tetanus or seasonal flu, require occasional booster doses to maintain the body’s defenses. Here at Colorado River Pediatrics, we use the same recommendations as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS)

Mission Statement
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We firmly believe in the safety of our vaccines. We firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the 2024 schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
We firmly believe, based on all available literature, evidence, and current studies, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. Although we firmly believe that thimerosal, a preservative that has been in vaccines for decades does not cause autism or other developmental disabilities, we have still opted to be thimerosol free.
We firmly believe that vaccinating children and young adults may be the single most important health-promoting intervention we perform as healthcare providers, and that you can perform as parents/caregivers. The recommended vaccines and their schedule are the results of years and years of scientific study and data gathering on millions of children by thousands of our brightest scientists and physicians.

We would love to have every single one of our patients vaccinated and healthy. Per our office policy, new patients who do not vaccinate will not be accepted into our office.
Schedules
We understand many families have their own schedules and some children may have different ideas for their own schedules. Here are our current recommendations:

Vaccine Information
Vaccines help protect children from serious diseases by training the immune system to safely recognize and fight infections. They are thoroughly tested, carefully monitored, and have been shown to be both safe and effective. Scientific research has consistently shown that vaccines do not cause autism and are not harmful to children. We encourage families to review the trusted resources below to learn more about how vaccines protect both individual children and the community.
